My wife Amber, 2 boys, Hezekiah, Malachi and I are part of a Christian missions organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission) which focuses on training people up to go out into the world and preach the gospel of Jesus. We desire to love and help those in need, pray for the sick, and be a light to the world, making God known.
Our desire is that the lost will believe in Jesus and be saved, discipled, and then share the love of God with others also.
We live in a rural area of southern Taiwan and we have a passion for hospitality, teaching the Bible, and helping families! We feel that God has called us into this area to be a lighthouse of God’s love and truth in our city, take care of the needy, provide free housing for those that need to rest and help people understand God’s word, so that they can know Him better and apply the word to life in a real way.
We do an assortment of ministries in the city but for us, the heartbeat of our ministry is in our home. each week we invite people from the local community to our house and we make a big meal for everyone to eat together, then we take some time to share thanksgiving, ask about their needs, encourage everyone to support each other in those needs, and we read scripture together. The hope is that through people coming and sharing life together with us, reading scripture and discussing it, asking questions about anything and being there for them, that they will know they are loved, that they will be drawn to know Jesus and give their lives to him. We are there to be a family for them when they may feel rejected by their relatives for following Jesus.
Many of the people who come to our home are not believers but ask good questions and feel that we are a warm place to be refreshed and loved. As we remain consistent in living with them, living life in a kingdom way, our prayer is that they will see our example and want to know Jesus through the joy that God has given us.
Our house is also open for church teams to come and do outreach, learn how to preach the gospel, and see how they can help bring light to Taiwan. So if you are wanting to come to Taiwan to help and preach the gospel, we can host up to about 12 people in our home. Feel free to contact us and lets make it happen!
As of March 2024 we are preparing to plant a house church in our home starting in the beginning of 2025. Until then, we are renovating and raising support for church supplies and for the church to run smoothly each month. Our need for the church as of now is still $150/month more than what we have currently and this will be updated when the need is met.
Other ministries that we do are with special needs, school basketball classes, teaching conflict resolution in schools, women’s Bible study, and we are available to help in other volunteer opportunities that come up.
Our family is committed to seeing change happen in the lives of the Taiwanese and we have no intention of leaving unless God makes it very clear to do so.
