Nepal outreach selection process – God’s humor :)

laba-ws.blogspot.comSo this is how Nepal was selected…

When I first arrived to DTS after 2 days, one of my leaders Anne asked me where I thought id like to go on outreach. Nobody at that time knew the locations of outreach that were options. I had a gut feeling that I should go to Nepal… Not even knowing where Nepal was or if it would be an option. Right afterward, I found out who else was considering Nepal which caused me to want to avoid it because I didn’t like those people lol.

Then a week later, our outreach locations were told to us and that we were supposed to go pray about the choices and put our first and second choice on a paper and into a bucket.

From the choices, I would’ve loved Taiwan or Brazil but God told me Nepal beforehand. I wasn’t 100% if it was God or my own voice so I wrote down all 9 location options onto little papers and made sure that Nepal was on a very tiny piece… Lol
Then I put those papers into a hat and prayed over it, asking God that if it was Him speaking to me about Nepal, to have that paper come out of the hat.

I was trying to avoid Nepal at this point because I wanted to go to Brazil. Anyway, I reached in as quickly as possible and grabbed at the first paper my finger touched, pulled it out and as I opened it, was not surprised to see that it said Nepal. So I put that into the class bucket and didn’t write a second choice.

2 days later they announced our locations and my team and it was the 7 people that I would have liked most to not go with on my team lol. Oh man God has a sense of humor.
