May 24th/2014 Journal entry – God is a good dad

cropped-1-588.jpgWhat a miraculous day today was!

I borrowed a moped for a day and rode around the island spending time with God and it was incredible. We spoke all day and shared love with each other.
The scenery was magnificent and so were the beaches! I first went to Akaka falls which is a massive waterfall surrounded by forrest. Got some pics and then after talking to a nice guy in a cafe, went to Hilo to his favorite beach, “Carlsmith”. This was so gorgeous! There are beautiful pools of water and rock that have a freshwater source as well so it makes for freezing water mixed with warm water but the water doesn’t mix easily so it is warm on the bottom or top in some places and cool vice versa. Very relaxing!
On the way there I saw some more beautiful scenery and took some pics and videos.

Then I left Hilo at around 4:30 and on my way back, it was getting cold and the sun was going down. Hilo is about 4 hours away from home on a moped. As I approached Waimea, the halfway point, it started raining and got dark and very cold. I only had a t-shirt on so it was not good enough to ride the rest of the way home with.
I stopped and began to pray and asked God to provide a way home for me because I am not able to ride till tomorrow. I had no money to stay at the inn so I was ready and prepared to sleep outside under a parking lot or something till morning.
I went to a gas station and said to the attendant “Hey Bruce, I have a weird question for you.” “What would you do in my shoes in the following scenario…? I am a YWAMer, have no money, am 2 hours from base, have only a t-shirt on and a moped and I need to get back to Kona, otherwise the ground is my bed tonight.”
To which he replied “hmm…”
At this moment, a guy walked in the store that Bruce knew and he said to the guy, “Hey BJ, where are you headed?” He says “Kona..” Then Bruce told BJ that I needed a ride to Kona and BJ said to me if I can get my moped in the back of the truck out front in 5 minutes then he will take me into town.
WOW! “Absolutely” I said as I darted out and got 2 guys to help me lift it into the truck.
We all jumped in and headed to Kona. On the way, I found out that BJ is a pastor and we picked up some fellow Christians on the way haha!!
Wow God is so good! He was just being my great dad and taking care of me, saying that he doesn’t want my to be stranded, all I gotta do is ask Him and he will provide.
