Environment that many people sleep in

After our arrival to Imphal we settled in quickly and started ministry as soon as possible since we only have 10 days here and want to make it count.

We have gone to a big church and got to know a number of the youth there as well as the pastor and worship leader. On Saturday we will be speaking at the church and sharing some encouraging stories with the people there.

We went into the small dark parts of town and met a few families of people who invited us to sit with them and talk. We chatted for a while, the team was chatting with the head of the houses while I spent my time getting to know the boys of the houses. They were all 15-21 yrs old and very funny guys. We all connected quickly and they asked me lots of questions, then I showed them some pictures of my family back home and just bonded a bit. Afterward, I prayed for them all and blessed them and left with 8 new Facebook friends to get to know more and love and share the good news with.

We were invited to go to the worship leaders house for dinner and tea and so we did and prayed with them for a while, then went to a church with 70 youth boys and girls and I shared a testimony/message with them about faithfulness and tithes. We worshiped and prayed for them and then the next morning the team went to the area of town where there are many brothels and prostitutes and loved on them as much as possible.
They all had amazing stories and were hurting, broken, lost girls that just needed a hug and a shoulder and to know that someone cares.

One girl wanted to tithe but she said she felt too ashamed to go into a church so she gave 50 rupees to Anne to give for her…. This was heart breaking that she felt this torn up inside and yet, with no money at all, and using money she got from selling her body, she still wanted to give it to God. Wow..

I have had some great conversations with God recently about content ness, faith, wisdom, love, forgiveness, and so on. My conclusion is that I just want to be more like Jesus still and grow more every day. I am learning always how to be love and live it not just in actions but in my character and how I feel and just be love because I really want to, not because I am commanded to. Each day I grow in this and ask God to introduce me to wisdom, that I might welcome correction and learn from rebuke and criticism. Love the learning process.

This all happened by Wednesday so more has happened that is awesome but I’ll wait till next wifi spot for all that.
